It's now 8 months since my last post. I know I promised more posts, but the fact of the matter is the conversion to Allegra WORKED! And as I didn't have any weird symptoms to blog about, quite frankly I forgot to post, which is a good problem to have!
As I said above, it's now been 8 months on Allegra and have not taken a Zyrtec since. Life is so much better away from that God-forsaken drug. I have now begun looking at natural alternatives to these mainstream allergy medications to try and eliminate allergy meds from my regimen altogether. I'm still taking Singulair, but mainly to control my asthma. I don't foresee myself getting off of that unless someone knows of a medical breakthrough. Getting off of corticosteroids was my goal and I have done that with flying colors (Zyrtec obviously isn't one, but I hated being addicted to a med) !
I've gone from 7 medications down to only 2! Now I'm shooting for one. I'm getting very close. I've never gone a period of time without an allergy medication so I'm anxious to see what life would be like without it. I'll post more as I learn more!
